Sir Anthony Hopkins, one of the greatest actors of his generation, has opened up about what can only be described as a miracle event in his life.
\nHe has revealed to followers of his Twitter social media account how he has remained sober for 45 years.<\/p>\n

The Oscar-winning Welsh actor, now aged 82, battled alcoholism during his early career, going teetotal following a talk with a woman from Alcoholics Anonymous in December 1975.<\/p>\n

The woman asked him: \u2018Why don't you just trust in God?\u2019<\/p>\n

From that moment, the urge to drink was \u2018never to return\u2019.<\/p>\n

Sir Anthony recently posted a video on Twitter, saying 2020 had been a year \u2018full of grief and sadness\u2019 but urging those struggling not to give up.<\/p>\n

\u2018Forty-five years ago today, I had a wake-up call,\u2019 he revealed. \u2018I was heading for a disaster; I was drinking myself to death.
