Sir Anthony Hopkins, one of Britain\u2019s greatest-ever thespians, has just become the oldest actor to ever win an Oscar and BAFTA for his portrayal of a man suffering from the early onset of dementia.<\/h2>\n

And he has revealed to Sorted<\/em> he drew on his own family experiences for the film, The Father<\/em>, which has once again won him widespread acclaim and recognition.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think as you get older, you do go around examining life more,\u201d he says. \u201cThis did make me think about my past and my parents and about the sweet sadness of it all.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember taking my mum to the hospital to collect my Father\u2019s things after he died.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember looking at him lying there and his feet were cold, and it was almost 40 years ago. I thought to myself \u2018you\u2019re not so hot, either, you\u2019ll be there one day\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
