OK, it was the World Cup Final and Hurst\u2019s three goals helped England win the World Cup for the one and only time. The moment has been immortalised in Kenneth Wolstenholme\u2019s commentary as Hurst scored for the third time, \u201cSome people are on the pitch. They think it\u2019s all over [Hurst scores]. It is now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fifty-two years on, I wondered if Hurst found it strange that he was still remembered for that one game of football: \u201cThe short answer is yes,\u201d he replied. \u201cAs I said to someone the other day, \u2018It\u2019s a weird kind of fame that you\u2019re known for something that happened 50 years ago.\u2019 I am still pleasantly surprised that from time to time people stop me in the street, want to talk to me or shake [my] hand. Or have a selfie with [me] \u2013 the modern way, not autographs anymore.
