What is a SSL Certificate?
SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer and it is a piece of code that ensures that the connection between your website and your customers is secure. This gives your customers confidence that your website is safe to visit and has been required by Google since 2018. This is to ensure that your position in Google listings is not severely degraded.
All our clients have access to our shared SSL certificate, which has 2048bit encryption, as part of their hosting with us. This is sufficient even for e-commerce websites that use payment providers such as Paypal or Stripe. If you use a payment provider such as World Pay, you will need to have an individual SSL Certificate registered to your specific to your domain. Our Individual SSL Certificates are renewed every 2 years.
